February Update: Things to Look Forward To

Book 2 Word Count: 41,326 / 90,000 (45.9%)
Approximate Timing Target:
DEC 13k, JAN 26k, FEB 39k, MAR 52k, APR 65k, MAY 78k, JUN 91k

I am ahead of schedule, but FEB is a short month. Let’s hope that I can keep up the pace! As of this writing, I have more than 41k words typed out. More fantasy elements are introduced in Broken Blade and I cannot wait for the readers to enjoy!

February will be another month focused on writing. My outline has me moving steadily. I have some concerns about pacing, but I’ll address it during editing. Right now, I want to write, write, write! Since I’m ahead of schedule, I’m going to to try to hammer out a short story about Eleanor Silverglade (Ellie).

I think March will be a month with more exciting updates. I’ll be reaching out to the artist (the awesome Natalie Marten) to commission another two pieces for the book cover. I hope to feature these in the March update. Also, I plan to have the editing start in March.

In April, I hope to have a cover to share with everyone. Once I get the artwork, I’ll hop onto fiverr and have a mockup created.

By May, I’ll be too anxious to keep everything to myself and probably share the Prologue and/or Chapter1… probably.

June will be spent proofreading… and proofreading again. I’ll let it simmer and then read it again.

If I can submit the project to BookBaby in July for an August release, I’ll do it, but I am in no rush. 2019 is the target, so if there are delays for any reason, I still think I’m in good shape.

(NINJA EDIT: Natalie is on a hiatus from taking on art commissions so I’m sourcing another artist. Fingers crossed that the person I hired is up to the task. Stay tuned.)
