Writing has always been a part of my life, but it’s been a journey of starts and stops, of ideas that spark brightly and then fade away. Today, I’m thrilled to share that I’m nearing the completion of the first draft of a story that has stuck, for better or worse: “The Enchanter of Elderglen.”
Over the past few years, my writing journey has been a rollercoaster. I’ve started numerous stories, filled countless notebooks, and typed out endless pages. Yet, for one reason or another, nothing stuck. Each attempt seemed promising at first but would eventually join my manuscript graveyard—a collection captured in the screenshot below. These false starts were not failures, though; they were stepping stones, each teaching me a little more about storytelling, discipline, and myself.

My latest work, “The Enchanter of Elderglen,” emerged from a mix of personal interests and literary experiments. The story follows Elliot Simmons, an ordinary college student with an extraordinary streak of luck, which often lands him in bizarre, nearly catastrophic situations at Franklin University. This unknowingly makes him a subject of interest for certain celestial beings. When these gods intervene, Elliot finds himself in Mythaeria, a world where myths breathe and magic flows as freely as science.
In Mythaeria, Elliot meets Marek, a fallen archmage with secrets and a past shadowed by regret. Together, they bear the brunt of a conflict between gods and the looming threats of dark forces. As Elliot learns more about runic magic, his unique abilities may either save this fantastical world or lead to its doom.

What has made “The Enchanter of Elderglen” different from my previous attempts? Persistence, a deeper understanding of my writing process, and perhaps, a bit of luck—much like Elliot’s. This project, now 70% complete at approximately 70,000 words, has taught me the importance of resilience.
Looking ahead, I am excited to continue this journey and share the final product. For those of you struggling with your projects, whether they be writing or otherwise, remember: persistence is key. Keep at it, and soon enough, you’ll find your way through your own version of Elderglen.
As “The Enchanter of Elderglen” nears its completion, I invite you to join me in this final stretch. Your support and interest mean the world to me, and I cannot wait to share the finished tale with you. Stay tuned for more updates!
