February 2020: Wyld Ride

The good news is that I almost tripled my word count since the last time I posted. The bad news is that I didn’t have very many words to begin with so I’m still far behind. From 2k to 6k has been a slog. I have that age-old problem of competing interests eating up my time.

I finished reading Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames. This book rocked pretty hard. I loved the worldbuilding in it. After reading it, the creative juices started flowing in my brain again, and it jumpstarted my writing engine. BUT, I have the sequel (Bloody Rose) in my shopping cart. (ninja update: I bought it. The cover art on these are amazing! I’m going to see about going for a similar style in my 3rd book. Something gritty of the like.)

Needless to say, once I start dedicating my limited free time to reading, I’ll have less time for writing. I still have hopes for publishing the final book of this series this year. Once it’s done, I can finally say that I’ve written a fantasy trilogy! Nice!

I truly do think I’ve been improving with each iteration. When it is done, I’m sure I’ll keep on writing. I had tons of ideas knocking around in my skull that I wanted to put into words but feared it would distract me even more from my current goal of finishing Glaive’s story.

At any rate, thank you for your continued support and I hope you are enjoying the journey as much as I am!
